What do we see in this work of art?
The artwork A Flock of Little Egrets by the Korean photographer Young Han Song shows a scene that we rarely see here in Germany and Europe. This picture shows a large group of little egrets catching small fish and insects in a body of water. We don't know exactly where this work of art was created. Maybe the body of water is a shallow river, or maybe it's a shallow spot in a lake. The reflection of the herons in the water creates an optical effect that makes the viewer believe that more of these majestic animals are fishing there. This work of art is a great snapshot of a motif that Asian artists have captured in their art for centuries. As common as one can see such a situation in Korea and Asia, it is rare in our latitudes.
Where can this mural hang?
A canvas print of the photograph A Flock of Little Egrets is, at first glance, just a photograph of a group of birds going about their everyday business. But it shows a scene that is rarely, if ever, seen here. For this reason, a canvas print of this artwork would make a great gift for bird watching enthusiasts. It also has an interesting effect in a travel agency.
