As in Shakespeare's own day, As You Like It is presented with an all-male cast in costumes of the current time. Young heroine Rosalind escapes from the court of her uncle, Duke Frederick, and into the Forest of Arden, where herbanishedfather lives in exile. She disguises herself as a young man, Ganymead, and meets the handsome Orlando, also fleeing from court, who is sick with love for Rosalind. Under her disguise, she tests his feelings for her and teaches him about true love.
