Frogs is a brash fusion of political satire and timeless human comedy - as topical and funny now as when it was first performed in 405BC. With crazy wit and knockabout energy, it tells the story of Dionysus - god of theatre, wine, revelry and song - who travels down to the underworld to bring back one of the great playwrights from the dead. The play climaxes with a vitriolic and hilarious game-show-style contest between the two giants of Greek theatre - Aeschylus and Euripides.
