Leading a primitive existence on a tropical island, the Architect's solitude is disturbed by the sudden arrival of the Emperor of Assyria. What follows, as the Emperor attempts to introduce the Architect to a civilised lifestyle, is an absurdist tale of cannibalism and contemplation of contemporary values.
This is a print of the National Theatre 1971 production poster for The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria. The bookshop has collaborated with the team to bring you an exclusive collection of custom prints taken from original National Theatre artworks.
