Brecht's timeless story, punctuated with songs and laced with dark humour, offers a bitter examination of a world where morality has no home. At its heart, is the beggar-masters Peachum, who loses his daughter to the powerful seductive swindler Macheath, known as "Mac the Knife." When Peachum and his wife seek Macheath's downfall, revenge is far from sweet.
